Has Twitter Figured Out Mobile Advertising?
Twitter’s mobile advertising business has solidified to the point that it now represents more than half of its revenue, according to this report. That’s quite a feat given that Twitter only launched mobile ads a few months ago. Clients cited in the article report impressive results, like 2.5 apps downloaded per 100 ads delivered.
Here are other relevant numbers:
- About 60% of Twitter users come from mobile.
- eMarketer estimates Twitter will generate $260 million in revenue from advertising in 2012, up from $140 million in 2011
- Google projects its mobile ad revenue to be $2.5 billion, out of a total of $36.5 billion.
Basically, it appears that Twitter has solved a problem Google and Facebook are still struggling with, as this analysis points out.
